Direct Mail Printing & Fulfillment

Full campaign production from our Richmond Hill facility.

Direct Mail Fails in the Handoffs, Not in the Mailbox

Most direct mail campaigns go wrong somewhere between the printer, the data house, the mail house, and the post office. Files arrive in the wrong format, addresses get truncated, the piece turns out to be a non-standard size that costs more to mail than it did to print, and the drop date slides by two weeks.

C17 Media removes those handoffs. We print the piece, merge the personalization, address and sort the run, kit it, and prepare it to Canada Post specifications — all in one building, with one project manager. Because our pre-press team sees the mail spec before the piece is designed, we catch the expensive problems early: the oversized format, the address block that lands in the wrong place, the finish that a sorting machine will scuff.

What Our Direct Mail Services Offer

Postcards & Oversized Mailers

The workhorse format. Printed on stocks heavy enough to survive automated sorting, in sizes chosen against postal rate breaks rather than against a designer's instinct.

Personalized Letters & Statements

Variable data letters where the name, offer, and reference details change per record, folded and inserted into windowed or printed envelopes.

Self-Mailers & Folded Pieces

Folded and tabbed self-mailers that skip the envelope entirely — lower cost per piece, and the message is visible the moment it's picked up.

Dimensional & Kit Mailers

Boxed and bulky mailers for high-value B2B targets, assembled and packed in-house. Expensive per piece, and dramatically harder to throw away unopened.

Variable Data & Personalization

Names, offers, QR codes, unique promo codes, and personalized URLs merged per record, with the data cleaned and formatted before it hits the press.

Addressing, Sorting & Fulfillment

Inkjet addressing, presorting, tabbing, inserting, and preparation to Canada Post specification, with counts and documentation you can hand to your client or your CFO.

Who We Provide For

At C17 Media, we know no two audiences are the same, and neither are the businesses trying to reach them. We produce direct mail for companies across dozens of industries, and we build every campaign to do one thing: get your message noticed and get your customers to act. Whether you're driving new business, bringing customers back, or launching something new, here's who we help every day.

Automotive & Motorsports

Dealerships, performance shops, driving academies, and racing series are the heart of who we serve. We turn service reminders, event invitations, and seasonal offers into booked service bays, packed events, and customers who keep coming back.

Restaurants, Franchises & Hospitality

From single locations to national franchise groups, food and hospitality brands trust us to reach diners in every neighborhood they serve. We deliver menus, grand openings, and loyalty offers that get your brand on the table and keep guests coming back for more.

Retail & Consumer Brands

Retailers, manufacturers, and consumer brands rely on us to move product and build loyalty at scale. We produce catalogs, product launches, and personalized offers that drive purchases and turn first-time buyers into repeat customers.

Print, Signage & Creative Partners

Agencies, print shops, and sign makers use us as the production partner working quietly behind their brand. We handle the printing, finishing, and mailing so you can deliver more for your clients without taking on the overhead.

Professional Services & Community Organizations

Law firms, clinics, real estate offices, non-profits, and schools count on us to put the right message in the right hands. We create the appointment reminders, fundraising appeals, and community outreach that build trust and inspire people to respond.

The Benefits of Running Direct Mail Through C17

One vendor, one accountability — print, data, personalization, and fulfillment in one building instead of four invoices and a blame chain.

Postal-spec review before design is locked — we flag the format that would have cost you more in postage than in printing.

True variable data — every piece can differ, not just the address line.

Clean data handling — we format, dedupe, and standardize your list before merge, rather than printing 4,000 pieces addressed to "NULL".

Drop dates you can plan around — production scheduled backwards from your in-home window.

Print the campaign, not just the mail — matching landing page posters, in-store POP, and window graphics produced alongside the mail piece in the same colour.

Personalization That Earns the Open

Generic mail gets sorted over a recycling bin in about two seconds. Mail that demonstrably knows who it's talking to survives that trip to the kitchen counter — and personalization at the print level costs far less than most marketers assume.

Variable Data Printing

Names, purchase history, nearest location, and offer tier can all change per record. One press run, thousands of genuinely different pieces.

QR Codes & Personalized URLs

Unique codes per recipient close the loop between the mailbox and your analytics, so the campaign's performance is measurable rather than inferred.

Segment-Specific Creative

Run three or four creative versions against different segments in the same production window, at close to the cost of running one.

Kitting, Fulfillment, and Getting It Out the Door

The unglamorous half of direct mail is where campaigns actually die. It's also the half we control end to end.

In-House Assembly

Folding, tabbing, inserting, and hand-assembly for dimensional kits, done by our team on our floor.

Sorting & Postal Preparation

Addressed, presorted, and documented to Canada Post specification, with the paperwork your campaign needs for verification.

Reporting & Counts

Verified quantities, drop confirmation, and leftover inventory tracked — so the numbers in your campaign report are real.

Direct Mail Printing FAQs

1Do you handle the mailing, or only the printing?
Both. We print the piece, merge the personalization, address and presort the run, insert and tab as needed, and prepare everything to Canada Post specification with the accompanying documentation. The value of running it through one shop is that nobody can point at the previous vendor when something goes wrong.
2Can you work with our mailing list, or do we need it in a specific format?
Send it however you have it — Excel, CSV, or an export from your CRM. Our team standardizes the formatting, flags duplicates and incomplete records, and structures the fields for the merge. We'll come back to you with what we found before we print, because a list problem discovered after the run is an expensive list problem.
3How far in advance should we start a direct mail campaign?
Work backwards from your in-home date. As a planning guide, allow roughly two to three weeks from approved artwork and a clean list through print, personalization, fulfillment, and postal induction — longer for dimensional kits or anything requiring custom assembly, and longer again during peak retail season. Bring us in before the creative is finalized and we'll flag format and postage issues while they're still free to fix.
4What size should our mail piece be?
Postal pricing is driven by size, thickness, and weight, and the rate breaks are not intuitive — a piece a few millimetres over a threshold can cost noticeably more per unit to mail across the entire run. That difference usually dwarfs the printing cost. We review your format against current specifications before production and will tell you if trimming a small amount off the design saves you a significant amount in postage.
5Can every piece be different?
Yes. Variable data printing lets the name, offer, imagery, QR code, promo code, and personalized URL change on every single record in the run. It's one press pass, and the incremental cost over a static piece is far lower than most people expect. Response rates justify it in nearly every campaign we've produced.
6Can you produce the rest of the campaign too?
That's the argument for consolidating here. Along with the mail piece we can produce the in-store posters, window graphics, POP displays, and counter cards that the campaign lands into — printed in the same facility, under the same colour management, on the same schedule. The mail and the store match, which is harder to achieve than it sounds when three vendors are involved.
