Commercial Door Wraps & Refinishing

Every door in the building, refinished in place. No replacement, no demolition, no shutting the floor down

3M™ DI-NOC™ architectural film, installed by our certified crews across Toronto and the GTA.

Replacing Doors Is Almost Never the Right Answer

A commercial door replacement means new slabs, new frames, new hardware, a contractor, a permit conversation, and a corridor closed for days. In an occupied office tower, hotel, or hospital, the disruption often costs more than the doors.

3M™ DI-NOC™ architectural film solves the same problem from the other direction. It's a self-adhesive finish film applied directly over the existing door. Hollow metal, wood veneer, laminate, or fiberglass, that reproduces wood grain, brushed metal, stone, and solid colour finishes convincingly enough that people touch it to check. The door stays hung. The hardware stays where it is. The fire rating of the underlying assembly isn't disturbed, and Class A fire-rated film options are available where code requires them.

C17 Media is Toronto's premier 3M™ DI-NOC™ installer. Our crews are 3M-certified, we work overnight and on weekends in occupied buildings, and a typical floor of doors is finished and back in service before the tenants return.

What Our Door Refinishing Covers

The Benefits of Door Film Over Replacement

  • Save up to 80% on your renovation - the cost difference against new doors, frames, and hardware is not marginal.
  • Occupied-building installs - overnight and weekend scheduling means the space is usable the next morning.
  • No demolition, no landfill - the existing door stays in service, which is the most sustainable outcome available.
  • Hundreds of finishes - wood grains, brushed and patinated metals, stone, leather, textiles, and solid colours from the full DI-NOC range.
  • Repairable in place - a damaged panel is re-skinned individually, not replaced as a whole door.
  • 3M-certified installation - the material warranty means nothing without the installation to match.

What DI-NOC Actually Is

Worth explaining properly, because "vinyl wrap" undersells it and most decision-makers have only seen bad examples.

Micro-Overlay Construction

DI-NOC is built in layers, with a protective micro-overlay over the printed grain. That's why it resists scuffing on a door that gets pushed open a hundred times a day, and why the texture holds up rather than polishing flat.

Conformable to Profiles

The film conforms around raised panels, rails, stiles, and edge profiles, so a paneled door still reads as a paneled door, not a flat sticker over relief.

Rated and Specified

Class A fire-rated options, established performance data, and a manufacturer warranty. It specifies cleanly into a real project, which is why architects use it.

How a Door Program Runs

1. Site Assessment

We attend, count and measure the doors, assess substrate condition, and identify anything that needs prep or repair before film goes on.

2. Finish Selection

Physical samples on site under your actual lighting. Screens lie about wood grain; samples don't.

3. Scheduled Installation

Overnight, weekend, or floor-by-floor phasing that works around occupancy rather than against it.

Commercial Door Refinishing FAQs

1How long does it take to refinish a door?
A single standard door is generally a matter of hours including prep, and a crew works through a floor efficiently once set up. The more useful figure is that we schedule around your occupancy. Overnight or weekend work means doors are finished and back in service before staff, guests, or patients arrive. On multi-floor programs we phase the work so no area is ever fully out of use.
2What does it actually look like? Will it read as fake?
This is the right question to ask, and the honest answer is that it depends entirely on the film chosen and the quality of the install. DI-NOC's wood grains and metals include surface texture, not just a printed image, and the film conforms around panel profiles and edges rather than bridging flat over them. Wrapping the frame and jamb along with the slab is what sells it. We'll leave physical samples with you to judge it in your own light, not on a screen.
3Can it be used on fire-rated doors?
There are Class A fire-rated DI-NOC options intended for exactly these applications, and we specify them where the assembly or the code requires it. Tell us which doors are rated during the site assessment and we'll select accordingly. Do not let a supplier apply an unrated film to a rated assembly.
4How durable is it, and what happens if a door gets damaged?
The protective micro-overlay is built for high-touch commercial traffic, corridors, guest room doors, clinic doors. When damage does happen, the repair is straightforward and local: we re-skin the affected door or panel individually rather than replacing anything. That is a meaningful advantage over a damaged veneer door, which usually means a full replacement to match.
5Do you work outside Richmond Hill?
Yes. Our 3M-certified installation crews work throughout Toronto and the Greater Toronto Area, and we handle multi-site programs across a portfolio of buildings which is where consistency of finish and consistency of installer really matters.
